Vomidrine 50 mg tablet: 50 mg dimenhydrinate. Therapeutic indications: prevention and relief of nausea, vomiting and motion sickness - so common when travelling by sea, air, or land. Posology: Prevention, the first dose should be given about 30 - 60 minutes before travel. Adults: The usual dose is 50-100mg, 3 to 4 times a day. Children: 2 to 6 years - ¼ to ½ tablet, 7 to 12 years - ½ to 1 tablet, 13 years and over - 1 to 2 tablets, given 2 to 3 times a day. Contraindications: allergy to dimenhydrinate or any other component of Vomidrine, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, new-borns. Special precautions: bronchial asthma, pulmonary emphysema and cardiac arrhythmias, use of certain antibiotics (such as aminoglycosides), epilepsy or a history of seizures. Vomidrine Direct 50 mg sublingual tablets: 50 mg dimenhydrinate. Therapeutic indications: Prevention and treatment of motion sickness (in adults and children over the age of 12). Posology: 50 mg to 100 mg (1 - 2 sublingual tablets), 3 to 4 times a day. The first dose should be taken at least 30 - 60 minutes before travelling, at a maximum dose of up to 400mg per day. Place under the tongue and allow it to dissolve, without water. Do not chew or swallow. Take after meals. Contraindications: Allergy to dimenhydrinate or any other component of this medicine; allergy to any medicines known as antihistamine agents; glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye); difficulty or pain when urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland; acute asthma; pheochromocytoma; seizures (epilepsy); cardiac arrhythmia. Special precautions: intolerance to some sugars, liver or kidney problems, asthma. You should not drink alcohol or take medicines containing alcohol during treatment.
